Guangdong announced it will hold the 2024 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) on November 8, according to the latest press conference.

Aiming to exert the business and innovation vitality of the GBA to facilitate international cooperation, the investment promotion conference is scheduled to be jointly held by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region on November 8 in Guangzhou. 

Over 430 representatives from multinationals confirmed participation

In order to deepen and expand economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including the ASEAN countries, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the South Pacific islands, the conference also aims to foster cooperation with other bay areas, namely the New York Bay Area, the Tokyo Bay Area, and the San Francisco Bay Area, to attract high-quality global resources and help the GBA become a world-class bay area.

As of October 23, representatives from foreign chambers of commerce such as the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, and the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, as well as representatives from leading global companies including ExxonMobil, BASF, Tesla, Pfizer, Panasonic, Hyundai Motor, Mitsubishi Corporation, Louis Dreyfus Company, Siemens Energy, Procter & Gamble, Airbus, and more, have confirmed their attendance, with over 430 representatives from Fortune Global 500 and industry-leading companies.

In particular, there has been a surge in registrations from companies in emerging industries focused on new quality productivity, including artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, new energy storage, biopharmaceuticals, high-end equipment, and clean technologies.

GDToday Salon sharing session to be held for the first time

The investment promotion conference this time is held in the form of a "1+9+N" series of activities, namely 1 main event, 9 Pearl River Delta city investment promotion conferences, and several domestic and international roadshows and industry investment promotion activities.

The main event includes a thematic conference, the release of the Guangdong Top 100 Foreign-Invested Enterprises list, an industry-specific application scenario investment promotion matchmaking, a multinational corporation symposium, an investment policy seminar, a "See you at GD" investment sharing session, an investment achievement exhibition, and the Greater Bay Area Night.

Among these main events, GDToday of Nanfang Media Group will co-organize the sharing session on foreign trade, foreign investment, outsourcing, foreign economic cooperation, and foreign intellectual resources, which is held for the first time at the conference. The session focuses on investment in the integrated development of the Five Foreign-related Fields and welcomes scholars, experts, representatives from foreign chambers of commerce (organizations), and multinational corporations to share their experiences with Guangdong's investment, business, and high-level opening up, conveying the voice from the GBA.
