The Spring Festival travel rush, or chunyun, is the world's largest annual human migration, known for its high transportation demand as hundreds of millions of people return home for family reunions for the Chinese New Year. Running until February 22, this year's travel rush is expected to see a record 9 billion passenger trips over 40 days.

As part of its high-quality development strategy, Guangdong province has made significant investments in upgrading its transportation network, improving both travel efficiency and regional connectivity. GDToday's special correspondent Rafael Saavedra, a Venezuelan vlogger, explored the transportation network in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He traveled between Shenzhen and Hong Kong by high-speed rail and also experienced the newly opened Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, which braces for its first Spring Festival travel rush.
