The 2025 Shantou Small Park International Lantern Festivalkicked off on February 12 and will run until March 9.

The lanterns come in various shapes, each representing significant elements of Shantou's economic, social, technological, and cultural landscape. From Chaoshan-style houses, gardens and paifangs, to national-level intangible cultural heritage items, the lanterns serve as a vibrant showcase of the city's diverse attractions.

In addition to the enchanting lantern exhibitions, the festival also features the cultures of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos,   highlighting Shantou's deep emotional ties with the overseas Chinese community.

Moreover, the Lantern Festivaloffers interactive experiences that blend Shantou's characteristic industries with traditional culture. Visitors can solve lantern riddles, watch robots perform Yingge dance, and explore a marketplace dedicated to intangible cultural heritage and creative products.

Throughout the festival period, intangible cultural heritage performances such as Chaoshan opera and Yingge dances will be organized every weekend.
