World's first 24/7 humanoid robot with autonomous battery swapping unveiled in Shenzhen
On July 17, Shenzhen-based humanoidrobotics company UBTECH released a video showcasing Walker S2, the world's first humanoid robot capable of autonomous battery swapping. The robot is equipped with a pioneering hot-swappable battery system, allowing it to swap batteries in just 3 minutes without manual intervention or shutting down, enabling 24/7 continuous operation.
The hot-swappable battery system features three core technological highlights:
Dual-Battery Balancing Technology enables seamless switching between two batteries. It supports live hot-swapping while preventing inrush currents and arcing, ensuring stable and continuous performance.
Standardized Battery Modules with a Seamless Compartment Structure allow for quick battery swaps as part of the robot's body.
Arm Coordinated Precision Swapping Technology, utilizing algorithms, enables precise alignment between the battery and the compartment.
This breakthrough not only avoids task interruptions caused by charging downtime but also reduces maintenance costs and improves overall production efficiency.
