Chinese navy hospital ship pays first visit to Brazil

(ECNS) — The Chinese navy hospital ship "Silk Road Ark" arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, beginning a seven-day goodwill visit to Brazil that includes a series of medical exchange activities.
The visit marks one stop of its Mission Harmony 2025 and is the first time a Chinese navy hospital ship has visited Brazil.During this time, the Silk Road Ark will be open to the public while medical teams are dispatched to Marcilio Dias Naval Hospital and the Brazilian Navy's Operational Medicine Center for professional exchanges. A cultural delegation will also visit the Brazilian Association for Chinese Cultural Exchange.
Representatives from the Brazilian navy's medical services will tour the ship and take part in medical exchanges, while Brazilian naval operational officers will observe combat medical rescue demonstrations aboard the vessel.
In addition, both Chinese and Brazilian navies plan to conduct joint maritime drills, including formation sailing and coordinated search-and-rescue operations for personnel fallen overboard.
